Smalls Food for Cats Review

Harley, Lola, and I have been ambassadors for Smalls since fall of 2021. Full disclaimer, we get free product from Smalls in exchange for promotion.

When Smalls first approached us about a potential collaboration in fall of 2021 I was super excited and jumped at the opportunity. I had recently had a conversation with my fabulous vet and she advised me to reconsider the raw diet the girls were currently on as it wasn’t working well for Harley’s stomach. We were eating Stella and Chewy’s freeze-dried raw. Lola and Harley both enjoyed the taste but the raw diet was no longer working for Harley. Smalls was already on the short list of brands I had in mind.

Smalls uses lightly-cooked human grade ingredients which I love. My girls are the world to me and I want the best for them. And all their recipes are formulated by vets to make sure that they contain all the nutritional requirements to keep kitties healthy.

BUT WILL HARLEY EAT IT?!?

That’s always the question. Lola will (and has) eat donuts, chips, ice cream, rabbit food, pretty much anything she sees someone else eating. Harley is VERY picky and doesn’t like to try anything new. So step one was trying Smalls to see if Harley would actually eat it or turn up her nose.

For our first shipment we chose the Smooth Bird, Ground Bird, and Other Bird varieties.

Lola is actually the messy eater (shhh!)

We received our first shipment of Smalls in a box with dry ice to keep everything fresh and a nice little welcome packet with tips on transitioning to a new food.

See the Smalls unboxing experience here.

SUCCESS!

After trying all the flavors Harley decided she liked the Ground Bird. (And Lola liked everything.)

Recently, Smalls has added a Pulled Bird which is our new favorite. Pulled Bird looks and smells like something I’d put on a sandwich for myself and makes me feel good about my decision of serving it to my girls. (As a side note, it appears bunnies love Smalls too so the cats now eat on the counter AWAY from George Michael.)

Since the girls have started on Smalls, Lola has really blossomed and filled out and her coat is much fuller. Harley also has a softer coat and there are litter box benefits as well, if you catch my drift.

If you have any questions about Smalls or the cats in general feel free to DM me on Instagram and I’ll provide you with my honest feedback.

I hope this review has been helpful! My girls are my world and I know all of us cat owners feel that way so I just want to share my experience.
