Photo Shoot for Wax Poetic Clothing at the World Famous Madonna Inn Romance Suite
The historic Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo is a maximalist dream. Madonna Inn features 40 unique guest rooms with almost every theme you can imagine. What better place for a photo shoot?
We booked the Romance Room as it was great fit for the romantic vibes and bright colors of the Victorian Arboretum collection from Wax Poetic Clothing.

When you arrive at Madonna Inn you are immediately transported. Pink is the signature color of Madonna Inn and you will find all different shades of pink throughout the historic motel. The landscaping has the benefit of decades of growth and it really feels like stepping into a fairy tale.
You select your room when you make the reservation, so there are no surprises at check-in. There are no elevators at Madonna Inn so if you’re carrying a lot of luggage (say for a photo shoot) be prepared to haul all your gear up flights of stairs if you didn’t book a ground floor room.

Both the Madonna Inn Copper Cafe and Alex Madonna’s Gold Rush Steak House have excellent food. The rib eye was exceptionally delicious and Madonna Inn’s famous pink champagne cake is available at both locations.

Before we dumped our stuff everywhere Romance Suite, Madonna Inn
We only had one night to shoot so it was a bit of a whirlwind trip. This was my favorite photo from the shoot. The dress is the Olivia Dress in Dried Lavender from Wax Poetic Clothing. We did have some external lighting but the light through the window was so beautiful that it wasn’t really needed.
